This weekend my favorite Canadian shared these videos which burst into my soul like the fireworks she promised in the watching.

It was one of those weeks when the stories coming in from the hearts of friends and family ached so much that a dull headache hung around under the surface of the days. I listened to stories of deep hurting and felt the weight of the broken world so acutely that homesickness for heaven rolled in as a melancholy summer fog.

But when I clicked on this story and song from Rend Collective, something got reset inside and I kept hitting repeat all weekend. From deep within I felt the small knot of anxiety begin to melt.  These joyful Irish voices sang with words and tone a much needed reminder of hope about Jesus’s gifts to us.

That’s right! The dark IS just a canvas for grace and joy IS always there to reignite us.

This is what faith in Him does, world. He gives us reason to celebrate in the midst of brokenness. He is our Hope. He is the only medicine that heals the hurts that no doctor or counselor or lawyer can cure. It’s real and His story combines with our stories, redeeming us as we run into his arms.
