Tis the season for the list of “things I’m thankful for”. What a thing to be spreading like wildfire, this story of gratitude. I can’t begin to describe what the listing of gifts has done for my story. Thanks to Ann Voskamp, I am tipping toward #4000. But that story is for another day.
Cultivating gratitude is no doubt one of the most positive and life changing disciplines one can undertake. It colors out the gray in ordinary days and boldly rejects brokenness. I see the baby seeds of gratitude lists sprouting up in my facebook feed. My prayer is that this listing will grow into the other 11 months of the year. Not as a fad, but as a way of life.
Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
And his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
I absolutely love the thankful tree! We have a journal we’ve kept since I was a teenager that each one of us full out on thanksgiving about what we’re thankful for.

What a great idea!
I have been keeping a gratitude journal . I write in the evening-5 things each evening I am so thankful for…so much to be grateful for—you as a friend, just for one!
